Bija Mantra

Ganesha is represented through the sound 'gan' ending with a distinct nasal twang. It is not supposed to have meaning. It is believed to provoke vibrations that invoke Ganesha. The devine Ganesha Bija mantra prescribed by gurus to devotees is "Om Gan Ganeshaya Namaha". Devotees can chant this 54 or 108 times. It is supposed to calm the mind and lead one to gain a direct-feeling of the Rhythm & Vibration of Lord Ganesha.
